‘Violence not a solution to any problem’: Political reactions pour in amid tractor rally chaos in Delhi

     New Delhi:  As clashes erupted in several parts of Delhi during the farmers' tractor march on Tuesday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and several other political leaders deplored the mayhem, saying that "violence is not a solution to any problem". Thousands of protesting farmers stormed into Delhi with their tractor rally this morning and also entered the iconic Red Fort and ITO in the heart of the national capital, triggering violent face-offs with police. A section of protesting farmers also hoisted flags from some domes of the iconic monument. Security personnel resorted to lathicharge and tear gas as hundreds of protesters deviated from pre-designated routes way before the pre-decided time. Expressing ire over the chaos, Gandhi tweeted, “Violence is not a solution to any problem. Whoever gets hurt, the loss is of the country. Police raised red flags, but call taken to let in tractors

     Concerns  that the tractor parade  could go off course  were expressed during a series of meetings held in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) over the past few days, sources told  The Indian Express . However, despite the Delhi Police’s reservations, a political call was taken to allow the rally rather than letting the farmers take a “more confrontationist” stand. On Tuesday, as a section of protesters stormed the Red Fort, Home Minister Amit Shah held a meeting with top officials of the MHA, Delhi Police and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) at his residence. At the meeting, which began around 4.30 pm and continued for one-and-a-half hours, Shah reviewed the security arrangements and discussed the next course of action to defuse the tension.      Farmers Protest: In eight rounds of talks with farmers' unions over the past month, the government had firmly ruled out withdrawing the laws but had insisted that amendments were on the table. The Supreme Court today pressed pause on the laws enacted in September in a huge blow to the government. The top court also said a committee of agricultural experts would take over negotiations with farmers to end the crisis, and called it a "victory of fair play". Amid a deadlock in the government's negotiations with the protesting farmer unions, the Supreme Court will today deliver its judgment on petitions challenging the validity of the three farm laws enacted last September.  A bench, headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde, which indicated during the hearing that it may pass orders in parts on the issues concerning farm laws and farmers'' protest, later uploaded the information on the website. Chennai man ends life in support of farmers protesting in Delhi

       CHENNAI: A 65-year-old man killed himself in Chennai on Saturday in support of farmers protesting in Delhi against the Centre's farm laws. G Perumal of Ashok Nagar left behind a suicide note at his home. In the two-page suicide note, he stated that the new farm laws would help neither farmers nor corporates. Perumal had lost vision in one of his eyes in an accident. On Saturday, his wife Kumudha, 45, a housemaid, left for work. His son, Lokesh, 22, a delivery executive, also went for work. Lokesh, who came back home for lunch, found his father hanging from the ceiling. Perumal used his dhoti to end his life. Lokesh removed Perumal from the noose and rushed him to a nearby health centre where he had been declared brought dead. Save Farmers......................

FARMERS TAKE OUT TRACTOR MARCH AGAINST FARM LAWS-INDIA
