China’s emissions now exceed all developed countries combined

It’s a powerhouse for renewable energy, but it still heavily relies on coal plants. It has committed to being carbon neutral  by 2060  but presented no clear roadmap on how this will happen. It has the world’s largest population, with a growing climate footprint as purchasing power increases. Evidently, it’s not easy for China to take action on climate its emissions significantly — and unfortunately… it’s about to get worse. China emitted more greenhouse gas than the entire developed world combined in 2019, the first time this has happened since national emissions have been measured,  a new report  showed. Even if everything goes according to plan, China won’t reach peak emissions by 2030, which means its output will continue to grow.   According to the Rhodium Group, global emissions reached 52 gigatons of CO2-equivalent in 2019, increasing 11.4% over the past decade. And China’s share is growing fast. While its emissions were less than a quarter of the ones of developed countri

Honor EarBuds 2 SE TWS earphones leak showcases design in White color

The Chinese technology giant Huawei is expected to host a launch event this month where the company is believed to launch several new products, including wireless earphones. Now, it seems that its former subsidiary Honor is also planning to launch a similar new TWS earphone in China. The new leak coming from a Weibo user reveals the design of the upcoming Honor EarBuds 2 SE that looks quite similar to the Huawei FreeBuds 4i TWS earphones launched by the company a few months ago. The only visible difference between the two devices is the charging box of the earphones. The Honor EarBuds 2 SE is leaked in White color option but it remains to be seen how the device will differ from Huawei’s FreeBuds 4i .                            There’s a possibility that the design has similar features to the Huawei FreeBuds 4i. It packs 10mm dynamic drivers and features an in-ear design with silicon tips. It connects with devices via Bluetooth 5.2 and has support for wear detection and fast pai

EU slams 'manipulation' of vaccine info by China, Russia

The EU's vaccine rollout has faced widespread criticism from within the bloc as delivery shortfalls hampered early efforts to get jabs into arms.   Beijing and Moscow have stepped up "state-sponsored disinformation" campaigns denigrating Western-developed vaccines against Covid while promoting their own, the EU said on Wednesday. "The so-called 'vaccine diplomacy' follows a zero-sum game logic" that seeks to "undermine trust in Western-made vaccines, EU institutions and Western/European vaccination strategies," a report from the EU's foreign service said. Since December, Russian media, authorities and state companies have united behind pushing the Sputnik V vaccine while using "antagonistic messaging" to accuse the EU of "sabotaging" the Russian jab, the report said. "Pro-Kremlin media outlets, including the official Sputnik V Twitter account, have sought to undermine public trust in the European Medicines A

China Vows to Step In as India Curbs Vaccine Supply to Neighbors

India’s neighbors are increasingly looking to  China  to fill the gap in their stalled coronavirus inoculation drives after New Delhi curbed vaccine shipments to battle a fresh and devastating Covid-19 wave at home. China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi said during a virtual meeting with his counterparts from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka on Tuesday that Beijing is willing to provide them with stable vaccine supplies through a multilateral framework. The overtures are a blow to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s much-touted vaccine diplomacy efforts earlier this year that were aimed at countering its larger neighbor,  China.  India had sent tens of millions of doses around the world. Yet despite being home to the world’s largest vaccine industry, India paused those exports as it struggles to inoculate its own population while daily infection rates smash through global records and thousands die each day. Bangladesh’s Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen at a brie
