The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 could cost less than we thought

Most cutting edge technology starts off expensive and then gets cheaper over time, and that's likely to be the case for foldable phones as well – and a new leak suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 might not cost quite as much as its predecessor. The 5G-ready Galaxy Z Flip that launched in June 2020 originally retailed for $1,449 / £1,399 / AU$2,599, but a new leak from tipster @FrontTron on Twitter suggests that the next clamshell-style foldable from Samsung is going to sell for $999-$1,199. A straight currency conversion puts that at £715-£860 / AU$1,275-AU$1,530 but that's not how Samsung will set the prices. Perhaps a better way to think about the rumored cost of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is that it's going to cost a third less than the model that came before it. That's a hefty drop, and considering we haven't heard much from this particular source before, it's wise to treat this as very much unconfirmed for the time being – even though we'd be very h...

Oxford Mini production to halt due to chip shortage

Production at Oxford's Mini plant will be suspended for three working days due to a shortage of computer chips. BMW said its Cowley factory will not manufacture cars on Friday or on Tuesday and Wednesday after the bank holiday weekend. A spokeswoman said the company had taken steps to minimise further disruption and was monitoring the situation on a daily basis. Other companies are also being hit by a global shortage of computer chips. Jaguar Land Rover has suspended production at its Castle Bromwich and Halewood factories this week for the same reason. The shortage has developed due to a rapid recovery in demand for chips from the motor industry, at a time when available supplies were being snapped up by the consumer electronics sector. The plant in the city employs 4,500 people and produces about 5,000 cars a week. In September 2020, BMW postponed a decision to cut 400 out of 950 agency staff at the factory due to "unexpected improvements" in demand.

Types of Braking Systems and Types of Brakes: General Knowledge

Most brakes use friction on the two sides of the wheel, the collective press on the wheel converts the kinetic energy of the moving object into heat. For example, regenerative braking turns much of the energy to electrical energy, which may be stored for later use. Eddy current brakes use magnetic fields to turn kinetic energy into electrical current in the brake disc, blade, or rail, which is converted into heat. The following are the most common types of braking systems in modern cars. It’s always good to know which ones fit your car for easy troubleshooting and servicing. Hydraulic braking system : This system runs on brake fluid, cylinders, and friction. By creating pressure within, glycol ethers or diethylene glycol forces the brake pads to stop the wheels from moving. • The force generated in the hydraulic braking system is higher when compared to the mechanical braking system. • The hydraulic braking system considered as one of the important braking systems f...
