SPOTIFY CEO SAYS LIVE AUDIO CONTENT IS THE NEXT ‘STORIES’

  Live audio experiences will be adopted by every major platform just like Stories have been, Spotify CEO Daniel Ek told investors on Wednesday’s earnings call. The streaming service recently  acquired  a live audio app, Locker Room, whose technology it expects to use to power a range of new live audio conversations centered around sports, culture and, of course, music. Investors were curious how exactly Locker Room would fit in with Spotify’s current offerings, given the streamer today is focused on delivering recorded content — music and podcasts — and not some sort of live social networking experience. Air pollution on rise in Indian cities

  Levels of  air pollutants  in India n cities, including national capital New Delhi, are on the rise, according to a study using observations from instruments on satellites that scan the global skies, emphasising the need to monitor air and importance of ongoing measures for a cleaner environment. Researchers used a long record of data gathered by space-based instruments to estimate trends in a range of air pollutants for 2005 to 2018, timed to coincide with well-established air quality policies in the UK and rapid development in India, a press release issued by the University of Birmingham said.       The study was led by the University of Birmingham and UCL and included an international team of contributors from  Belgium, India, Jamaica and the UK. The study also found an increase in the airpollutant formaldehyde in Delhi, Kanpur and London, it said. “We were surprised to see the increase in formaldehyde above Delhi, Kanpur and London” ...

Spotify May Launch A Premium Podcast Subscription Service

  Audio streaming service Spotify to launch podcast subscription service soon!! Audio streaming application  Spotify  is soon going to launch its  podcast  subscription service. The platform would be competing with Apple's newly announced  podcast  subscription service but it will not charge a fee or take a membership cut like its rival. As per Variety, the company will be letting content creators keep 100 per cent of the subscription fees. As per sources,  Spotify  will not take a cut of  podcast  subscription revenue. By contrast, Apple will keep up to 30 per cent of podcast subscription fees under its program, which is launching next month. Most creator platforms, including YouTube, Twitch, Facebook and Patreon, also take a cut of subscription fees and/or fan payments.
