Tesla's Powerwall+ is a higher-power battery for off-grid living

It looks like Tesla has started sending potential customers information about an upgraded Powerwall that's aptly called Powerwall+. In a post on  Reddit  spotted by  Electrek , a user posted a spec sheet for the battery, along with photos of what it would look like when installed. The upgraded version's battery capacity is still 13.5kWh, but its max power output is now 9.6kW, up from 5kW continuous and 7kW peak output. That said, that boost in power is only possible when you're in off-grid mode.    The spec sheets describes Powerwall+ as follows: "Powerwall+ is an integrated solar battery system to store energy from solar production. Its integrated design and streamlined installation allow for a simple connection to any home, and improved surge power capability brings whole home backup in a smaller package. System smart controls enable owners to customize system behavior to suit their renewable energy needs.” Tesla chief Elon Musk started talking about an upg

Malware Alert:Hacking Risk By Spectre

An Indian-origin researcher has warned that billions of computers and other devices across the globe are vulnerable today owing to a vulnerability named 'Spectre' that was first discovered in 2018 but is open to hackers again.Since 'Spectre' was discovered, the world's most talented computer scientists from industry and academia have worked on software patches and hardware defenses, confident they've been able to protect the most vulnerable points in the speculative execution process without slowing down computing speeds too much. However, researchers, led by Ashish Venkat at the University of Virginia's School of Engineering and Applied Science, UVA Engineering, discovered that computer processors are open to hackers again. They found a whole new way for hackers to exploit something called a "micro-op cache," which speeds up computing by storing simple commands and allowing the processor to fetch them quickly and early in the speculative execution

India to get 450,000 vials of remdesivir from Gilead, partner

India will get a shipment of 450,000 vials of remdesivir from US-based innovator of the drug, Gilead Sciences Inc, and its Egypt-based voluntary licensee Eva Pharma in various tranches till July, the ministry of chemicals and fertilizers said in a statement on Friday. “The first consignment of 75,000 vials will reach India today (Fri)... It is expected that Gilead Sciences will dispatch 75,000 to 100,000 vials in the next one or two days," the ministry said, adding that Gilead will also supply another 100,000 vials by 15 May. Apart from Gilead’s supply, India will also get remdesivir from Egypt-based Eva Pharma, with which Gilead had signed a voluntary licensing agreement in May last year. Eva pharma will supply approximately 10,000 vials initially followed by 50,000 vials every 15 days till July. Import of the 450,000 vials of remdesivir will be done by state-owned HLL Lifecare, the ministry said. Earlier this week, Gilead had announced that it will donate at least 45
